In recent years, our firm was successful in obtaining regulatory approvals for the Richman Group's extensive apartment complex and Liberty Square in the center of Middletown's North End development. At the same time, we successfully represented neighborhood groups in their opposition to a propane storage facility in Portland, and a large animal crematorium in Durham.

In a slow economic residential market, we assisted clients in obtaining the approvals for a 23-lot subdivision on Higby Road in Middletown, and a 15-lot subdivision on Poplar Road in Middletown.

In the industrial development area, we represented Bysiewicz Construction in a 15-lot industrial subdivision and NRG Energy in their construction of a new power plant within the City of Middletown. At the same time, we were able to establish a zone change and site plan approval for the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry. We achieved zoning and site plan approvals for Empower Leadership Sports and Adventure Center in Middletown.

In the litigation area, in recent months, our firm successfully completed three complete trials while continuing with extensive personal injury claims, and a disability insurance claim in the federal court.

In the News

Attorney Michael F. Dowley, along with church trustees Estelle Jackson and William Freeman, watch Rev. Moses Harvill sign purchase and sale contracts that finalize the property exchange. The Cross Street church will continue to worship in the current church for one year, until its new facility is completed. The new church's building will be about five times the size of its current building and offer its parishioners more parking, banquet facilities, classrooms and a space for youth ministries. Once the church is in its new building, Wesleyan will convert the Cross Street building into a learning center and a place to store much of its extensive archaeological collection.
